Microvascular Flap Surgery Case ID: 1017

March 19, 2020

A patient had a failed reconstruction and several surgeries prior to our reconstruction. We were able to use a microvascular flap to resurface the ankle region. The thin skin flap allows for this patient to have durable soft tissue with a good contour that doesn’t interfere with wearing shoes.

A patient with an infected and necrotizing diabetic foot wound that otherwise would have resulted in a below-knee amputation.
